Bass Fishing and Q&A with Steve Cooper (“In Deep On the Delta”) + Bloopers

I had the pleasure of bass fishing with Steve Cooper of “In Deep On The Delta”. Introduced him to some uncharted waters (to him) up north as I have been fishing there since the eighties. The North Delta can be a fantastic and productive fishery but you need to practice caution. It can be real dangerous as I’ve bent many props and put scratches on my boats through the years as there are so many hazards and unmarked objects. And they shift with the current and tides.

The largemouth bass up there are mostly the northern strain and don’t get real big like in the Central Delta. One big difference compared to the other parts of the Delta is that these bass love heavy current. The heavier the current, the bigger the bass!

Back in the seventies there were NO weeds or vegetation. With all the changes I’ve seen and how the Delta has grown (literally through broken levees), my way of fishing it has changed over the years to adapt to the growth of vegetation and currents. The Delta is one of the BEST places to fish, bar none!
