August started as a slow month. Early on a critter or something jammed itself in the wiper track and took it offline for a bit which caused a lot of growth on the dome. The weather wasn't cooperating as several storms passed south of us and the rain felt like there was no break. But even during some of the rough days, some great footage came about. There was the caught snook that fought that angler in front of the camera, another jack attack, and endless amounts of active snook. You know the snook will disappear come September 1st when the season opens back up - it's like they know and are toying with us. The bait was mesmerizing and captivating, and when they scattered there was usually a predator zipping through like a lighting fast barracuda, snook, or mackerel. Finally caught a glimpse of a yellowtail parrotfish, dog snapper, queen angel, Atlantic spadefish, even a zippy cowfish, and a dancing yellow jack. In fact, the yellow jack and lookdown duo gave us the idea for a 🕺 dancing theme - because 🎶You spin me right 'round, baby - Right 'round like a record, baby - Right 'round, 'round, 'round🎶 There is also a lone moonfish mixed in with the lookdowns. Can you spot it?
But the best days, were when the team got down there to clean the camera. Shortly after they finished, the great hammerhead showed back up and it has been hanging around giving us some amazing stock footage quality video. It's #HammerTime! 🦈
