Fly Fishing Rutland Water is extremely tough during the summer months. After an even longer summer sabbatical due to the extreme hot weather, the water is now starting to cool and we are hoping the fish move into the shallows to feed on fry.
This was my first outing fishing a single popper fly all day long on a floating line, a tactic I will use until the end of the season.
You can go hours and catch nothing and then BANG! The trick is holding on to them.
