Fly fishing for perch, sunfish, bluegills or rock bass is a lot of fun and a great introduction to fly fishing. Panfish are not spooky, they'll eat pretty well anything they can fit in their mouths and we don't have to cast far to catch them. We don't need any specialized tackle either. Just use what you have.
Fly fishing for panfish is also a great way to introduce children to the sport as the fish are easy to catch and they'll have fun.
