In this video I decided I would dedicate an entire day to streamer fishing for big brown trout. I knew the area I was fishing had relatively low numbers but had some larger fish. I switched flies a few times and after almost an hour of fishing I finally started seeing a few trout.
It took a while but I learned that a black sex dungeon worked the best on this particular day of fishing. I ended up moving 3 brown trout before I finally hooked up, and when I did I tragically lost the fish right at the bank because I couldn't get the net underneath the fish. But I moved on, trying to stay positive despite my failures as an angler.
After 3 and a half hours of fishing I finally hooked a good brown and actually landed the fish. It was an awesome brown, probably 20 inches give or take, and one I was thrilled to finally land. After that I fished for another 3 hours with little to no success, proving why streamer fishing for trout can be a grind.
