This is one variation of the vinyl stone fly. It is one of my all-time favorite dropper flies to help get my nymph rig to the correct water column. It's large yet sleek in profile to help it sink fast while achieving the look of a stone fly. As stone flies can be found in the water year around, you’ll find this only my line as a searching pattern majority of the time. Only swapping point flies to match the hatch.
