DIY Lure Making Tool: Forging EVA Foam Mandula Baits

DIY Lure Making Tool: Forging EVA Foam Mandula Baits

Want to know how to make a fishing lure quickly from recycled everyday materials?
In this lure making project, I transform old EVA foam slippers into articulated baits.
Building custom fishing lures often requires unique tools, so I forged my own.
I took a metal tube from a broken gas burner and built a custom hole punch.
Using a drill, this tool quickly cuts perfect foam cylinders from the old slippers.
I glue these colored pieces together to create high-visibility, three-color segments.
Every handmade fishing lure needs shaping, so I use a Dremel to form barrel profiles.
The segments are linked using a custom stainless steel wire frame for maximum flexibility.
This creates a classic 'mandula' jig, a specific fishing lure designed for bottom bouncing.
Watch the incredible underwater jigging action as this articulated foam bait comes to life.
