To learn how to make a fishing lure that truly stands out, sometimes you must forge the tools first. In this project, I repurposed a car valve and steel rails to build a custom hole punch and die set. This DIY stamping tool allows me to punch perfectly uniform copper scales for a unique design. After shaping a raw metal spoon blank, the meticulous process of heavy-duty soldering begins. I individually solder each copper scale onto the blank to create an incredible textured armor. This handmade fishing lure is built for action, producing a unique flash and vibration profile. Watch as I take these custom fishing lures out for a rigorous field test in the water.
