Fishing Tool Hack: DIY Copper Scales for Lure Making

Fishing Tool Hack: DIY Copper Scales for Lure Making

To learn how to make a fishing lure that truly stands out, sometimes you must forge the tools first.
In this project, I repurposed a car valve and steel rails to build a custom hole punch and die set.
This DIY stamping tool allows me to punch perfectly uniform copper scales for a unique design.
After shaping a raw metal spoon blank, the meticulous process of heavy-duty soldering begins.
I individually solder each copper scale onto the blank to create an incredible textured armor.
This handmade fishing lure is built for action, producing a unique flash and vibration profile.
Watch as I take these custom fishing lures out for a rigorous field test in the water.
Stick around until the very end to witness the mesmerizing underwater action of this custom spoon.
Mastering lure making means pushing boundaries and engineering custom tackle from scratch.
