This week, I’m fishing the Georges River chasing mullet and showing two simple, effective ways to catch your own bait!
In this session I’m using: - A float rig with a treble hook and two small stinger hooks above it. Great for targeting larger mullet feeding mid to top water. - A bait trap, which is an easy set-and-wait method that can produce solid numbers for smaller mullet that can be used as live bait.
Mullet are one of the best baitfish you can get, perfect for targeting species like bream, flathead and jewfish, so it’s always worth putting in a bit of time to catch your own!
