🎣 In this video, I’m making a custom worm bait with a brand NEW color combination I’ve never tried before! If you’re into bass fishing, soft plastic bait making, or just love experimenting with fresh lure designs, you’re going to enjoy this one. Worm baits are some of the most effective lures for catching big bass, and trying new colors can often be the difference between a slow day and a monster bite.
I’ve been pouring my own DIY soft plastic lures for a while now, but this worm bait color combo is something totally different. It’s always exciting to test new colors, because fish can react in surprising ways. Bass are known for striking worms in natural colors like green pumpkin, watermelon, and black/blue — but sometimes, a wild new shade can out-fish everything else in the tackle box. That’s why I wanted to see how this new worm bait turns out, and if it could be a real game changer for bass fishing.
Making soft plastic lures at home is one of the best parts of the fishing hobby. You get full control over your baits, from the shape and size down to the exact color and glitter. Worm baits are especially fun to make because of how versatile they are. You can use them for:
Texas rigs

Carolina rigs

Drop shots

Wacky rigs

Neko rigs

Or even as trailers for jigs

By pouring your own custom soft plastics, you’re not only saving money but also creating unique baits that fish haven’t seen before. That’s a big advantage when you’re fishing pressured lakes and rivers where bass are already wary of the same store-bought lures.
In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how I mix the colors, heat the plastic, pour the molds, and get the finished worm baits ready. You’ll see the full process of DIY lure making and how rewarding it is to create something one-of-a-kind. Plus, if this color works on the water, it might become part of my regular lineup.
👉 Whether you’re just starting out in soft bait making or you’re already into designing your own bass fishing lures, this video has tips and inspiration for you. If you’ve ever thought about making your own baits, now is the time — it’s creative, fun, and you never know when you’ll stumble on the perfect color combo that slams fish.
