This was my first time going on a long range sport fishing boat out of Florida. We left Marco Island, Florida on the American Patriot and went hundreds of miles offshore to fish an area known as pulley ridge in the Gulf of Mexico. Our goal was to deep drop using a combination of bait and slow pitch jigging for a variety of species. We caught Queen Snapper, Warsaw Grouper, Kitty Mitchell Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Yellow edge grouper, Vermillion Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo and many more. We were primarily fishing from 500ft-1000ft of water and most of he fish we were fishing for have never seen light or very little light. This was the trip of a lifetime, with many bucket list fish caught.
