Every winter, Southern Bluefin Tuna become the focus for a lot of Kiwi anglers.
For this trip, we headed to the West Coast of the South Island to spend a few days chasing them.
Bluefin fishing is a funny game. There can be long periods of waiting around, then all of a sudden everything happens at once. That’s what keeps people coming back.
We were lucky enough to catch some incredible fish, spend time with a great bunch of people, and witness the biggest tuna any of us had ever seen.
