NJ Sea Bass Open – What About Stripers?
The shortened spring season for black sea bass is finally reopened again at the Jersey Shore with a 10-fish bag limit and 12-1/2-inch minimum size limit now through June 19. We’ve got Striper Quest going on this week on the Raritan Bay with another couple of miniPAT devices going into jumbo stripers on the move along the Jersey Shore this week; look for our tournament tagging teams out there on Thursday. Plus, a quick summary of last Thursday’s New Jersey Marine Fisheries Council vote on striped bass in response to the ASMFC emergency declaration on striped bass. We also have news on the first fluke tournaments of the 2023 season getting underway this week out of ports in Lewes, DE and Bass River, NJ.
