Catching bass at Roodekoppies dam south africa is always fun during the spawn times. This time of the year is when you catch Giant Largemouth bass on any possible bait you could thing of.
This bass fishing adventure was on a Sunday and we fished roodekoppies. The week after we had a competition at roodekoppies dam and we had to practice for this competition. The bass on this Sunday out at roodekoppies where a bit finicky in the morning and it took james and myself awhile to figure out a pattern to catch bass.
First bass had been caught on a drop shot which is a must have bait on your boat or on the bank. the drop shot was crushing the bass out deep on rock piles and on underwater cover. The bass cant resist a Xzone finnesse slammer and we had 3 fish in the boat. A drop shot at roodekoppies dam is a fish catcher, you just need to fish out the small bass before catching the better size bass.
Another bass fishing bait that work really well was the 6th Sense Clout in the Electric shiner cloure. The bait I rigged on a belly weighted hook and I think the action of the 6th Sense Clout did the. job that the bass where biting it. I never go bass fishing with out having a pack of 6th sense clout. It's just a fish catching machine.
The bass at roodekoppies where not easy to catch but once we had a pattern worked out we were nailing the bass. Roodekoppies dam is one of the best bass fisheries in south africa.
