My buddy Tim and I made the nine hour trip to The Slab Lab in North Alabama. What a great experience, each catching our personal best Bluegill and catching tons of crappie (sacalait) . Sarah's knowledge on Bluegill and other fish in the lake is very impressive. Sarah and her Dad have strictly managed this lake to grow world record size Bluegill, with heavy feeding, culling of smaller fish and keeping water conditions just right. I was happy to help take out as many crappie (sacalait) as possible. I was also happy to be the first person ever to film a catch, clean and cook at The Slab Lab. We gave Sarah and her family a taste of Louisiana cajun food. We cooked Shrimp Etouffee, Crawfish Etouffee, Boiled Crawfish and fried Bluegill, crappie, shrimp, crawfish and alligator.
If you ever get the chance to go to The Slab Lab, it's worth every penny. The beautiful scenery and bald eagles flying around the lake is worth it. Not to mention, a chance to catch a world record size Bluegill. Thanks again Sarah, we will never forget the time spent with you and your family.
