“High Hopes & Cutthroat” - a Vancouver Island fly fishing adventure.
We headed deep into the mountains of Vancouver Island to chase cutthroat trout in the bright-blue, crystal-clear streams. With camp set up right beside the river, we spent the weekend exploring, fishing, and soaking in some of the most surreal scenery I’ve ever seen.
From early mornings on the water to late nights by the fire, we threw just about everything in the fly box trying to figure out what these wild cutthroat would eat. The challenge was half the fun, and every cast was a lesson in reading the river and appreciating this incredible place.
If you’re into fly fishing, camping, trout fishing, cutthroat trout, or outdoor adventures on Vancouver Island, this trip had it all - rugged mountain streams, untouched wilderness, and good times on the water.
