My girlfriend Annika (@flyfishannika) and I set out on a day off mission to float some very high water and try our luck finding fish tight to the bank, or in any soft water. We fished dry dropper rigs with 2x tippet. The best setup for us was the 9 foot 5 inch Western fly rod by the fly project. This 5wt has a fighting butt and the extra 5 inches allowed Annika to pick up a big Chubby with a deep, heavy dropper and re cast with ease. Especially when it came to setting the hook as well, or fighting these healthy fish in strong current. We really hoped you enjoyed this one. Don't be discouraged to fish high water if you're safe and know your limits. You'll have the river to yourself, but it'll take some extra effort fishing unique methods, heavier, deeper, etc.
