Ice Off in February? | Fly Fishing Early Season Rainbows

We heard rumors that one of our favorite stillwaters had some open water in February so naturally we had to go check it out. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and saw lots of open water with a little bit of ice still lingering. Curtis, Lance and Brent geared up and began searching the water for fish with balanced leeches, chironomids and sow bugs. Fishing was tough at first but trekking to the other side of the lake proved to be the best idea. Healthy rainbows were caught on the Chironomid Frenchie, Olive Blanced Leech and a tan Sow Bug. Follow along for some great Utah fly fishing.
