How to Tie a Walt's Worm fly that will catch fish on any river!

There are a handful of flies that just work. On any given day, on any given river, they'll work to put a bunch of fish in the net. They just have some fish catching magic that pull's trout no matter what bugs are around. The Walt's Worm is one of those flies.

The Walt's Worm is one of the simplest flies out there. It's the first fly many anglers tie themselves, and takes under a minute to tie once you get it down. Despite the simplicity, it's still a fish catching machine. It has a generic profile, good movement, and a spiky outline that could be just about anything.

Walt's worms are a staple in the competitive fly fishing world. They not only work well, but are easy enough to tie that you don't mind sticking it in some sketchy places and losing a few. More competition sessions have probably been won on this fly or a variation than any other- except maybe a mop!

My version of the Walts has no hot spot, but a flashy rib that helps draw attention and set it apart. The materials are:
- Troutline Pure Squirrel Dubbing (Natural Grey)
- Veevus C11 12/0 Thread (Olive Grey)
- Sulky Pearlescent Tinsel
-Fasna F-100bl Dry Fly Hook (8-22)
-Tactical Fly Fisher Slotted Tungsten Bead (Silver)
