In this video, I drove up to Lake Awoonga near Gladstone to escape the strong winds on the Sunshine Coast and hopefully catch my first Barramundi. As a complete beginner to barra fishing and new to this lake, I did some research and learned that jerk baits worked over weed beds were producing good results. Over two days, we managed to catch 5 barra! While none of them were massive, I was really happy with this result for my first time barra fishing. I'll definitely be back soon to try and catch a fish over a meter!
