The early morning bite has really fired up! Targeting mostly close to bank areas with top-water baits, and the occasional slow rolling spinner bait.

The name of the game right now is get on the water early and be off before Noon. The bite really starts to taper off after 9:30ish after that your best luck will come from docks and shade bluffs in the afternoon. Dealers choice with top-water right now, I've been catching a lot on white top-water baits mostly close to the bank. Poppers and spooks have worked best for me. After the first hour of top-water the fish move out deeper, then I'm going for either the small swimbaits or lipless cranks to cover lots of water. I tend to throw silver on clear days or gold on cloudy days keeping my bait low and slow. Cranks can be tough, just really depends on if the fish want to move for the bite. Jigs work well in shaded areas and log jams, keep an eye out for fresh water after a rain, those spots hold BIG bass. Later in the day I'm mostly targeting docks with a weightless fluke in white, or small swimbait works really well to. It feels like the fish are already moving out deep for their summer spots, so id only search main lake points for the most luck. Let me know whats been working for you guys, and well see you on the water next time!
