Lots of driftwood all over the lake. Be careful driving around, especially into the sun. Partially submerged full sized trees and stumps all over the place. Large pieces can hide in boat wakes and white caps. I heard one boat nail something as they flew by. If the water makes it to the highwater mark from 2019 it will get worse.
I heard the main bite came in the morning on reaction bait. We did graph lots of fish suspended at 12-18ft. Most of the fished we graphed were at 40-55ft though. Some of which were suspended over 80-100ft. There was a thermal incline at 50-60ft in serval places around the lake. Water temp was 48-50 degrees. There were two different tournaments going on and plenty of other boats on the lake. I was fishing the Paradise Bass Club Derby. I think we got 9th place with under 5lbs. Not a great day for us. First place was just under 12lbs. Big fish was a 2.9lb spot. The Paradise Bass Club meets the first Tuesday of every month if you are interested. Everyone is eager to get out there on the water. Just look out for all that driftwood.
