This video was shot on Saturday, January 11, 2025 on Lake Poygan in Wisconsin.
This was the first time I ice fished with Derek. He's a new fishing buddy I met at church.
I got to the ice around 7:50 am. Derek had a problem with his trailer lights so he ended up being about an hour late. Because of that, I ventured onto the ice by foot. I met Eric who was also walking out. Nice to not have to walk out alone.
We found some walleyes moving around in 7 to 9 feet of water out near the Horse Shoe.
Ice was around 14 inches thick in the spots I checked. There was a large crack that had a bridge for wheeler or sleds straight out from Noffke's Landing about a mile.
We saw full size trucks on the ice. That creeps me out. I want 16 inches or better. Plus there is the crack and springs out there that make the ice dangerous.
Watch the video for some walleye catching action!

Thanks for watching. I don't ice guide. Be safe out there! @justgofish
