On this day, we had a series of storms moving through. This was a rare occasion where it seemed like the fish were congregated in one specific area. After some trial and error, we pinpointed where they were. Stripping flies was the most effective method. Once it became clear that they mostly wanted the classic Pyramid Lake Beetle, I switched to a double beetle rig and caught a bunch of fish. I ended up catching my best fish of the trip; a 30”, 16 lb Pilot Peak strain Lahontan Cutthroat.
