The purpose of this video besides entertainment is to make all of you kayak anglers aware of the unpredictability of the wind and water conditions on Clear Lake, CA. You can start out your day on a glassy smooth lake, and end up being washed out by twenty plus mph winds and three foot high rollers on Clear Lake! Whenever I fish Clear Lake, no matter what the weather reports tell me, I make plans and backup plans for getting off the water should S%&T happen. Never go out there without a PFD, and trust your instincts not the weatherman! Clear Lake has an average depth around twenty feet, and it is approximately thirty five miles long and at its widest point 10 miles wide. The wind can and does push the water into huge rollers, and by the time they travel a few miles they can engulf the best of boats and boaters.
