We left Sea Hag Marina and ran 105 miles offshore into the Gulf in search of blackfin tuna. It was one of those days where you earn it — we bounced around for hours, covering water, chasing birds, looking for signs of life. Nothing easy about it. Then we found them. A massive school of blackfin tuna — and we went 4 for 4 back to back. The kind of action that makes the long run completely worth it. These fish were giant for blackfin, and after 105 miles each way we weren't leaving without a full box. On the ride home we started thinking about what to do with fish this fresh.
