In this video I’m going to be fishing Montana, which is the most iconic place for fly fishing in not only the US, but arguably the entire world. If you’re a trout fisherman you’ve probably seen a river runs through it, You’ve all read the countless articles, You’ve seen the photos of the giant trout, you all know about Montana. But that’s the problem, everybody does know. And to be honest that’s exactly why I’ve never had it super high on my list of places to visit. Which may sound backwards, but I didn’t like the idea of fishing a crowded river that literally everybody has fished. I like finding secluded places, feeling like I’m alone, and seeing more wildlife than people. But I knew I’d eventually make it to Montana, like a moth to a flame, there’s no trout fisherman that can avoid it. So when grant with firefly fishing asked me if I wanted to go to Montana instead of our original plan, it didn’t take much convincing. From alpine lakes you’d think were probably AI if you just saw a photo, to fishing some of the most famous rivers on earth, My first 3 days in Montana had it all. You’l get to see me catch a zombie trout, streamer fish for big browns, and catch a caddis hatch that would make a grown man act like a little kid on Christmas.
As you guys heard (or read) in the intro, this video has everything! From alpine lakes, to rivers, to several awesome creeks, this fishing adventure has it all. Both @FireflyFishing and I have a blast as we use several different techniques like dry fly fishing, streamer fishing, and even some euro nymphing during this awesome trout fishing video. Enjoy!
