Fly fishing for bass in the surf - In this video I target bass in the surf whilst using fly fishing tactics.
So I decided to dust off my flyfishing setup and head down to the beach for some fly fishing for bass.
With a light wind and the tide on the flood I made my way down the beach early morning to flick out some sandeel pattern flies hoping to find a few fish. As the tide rises up the beach the bass seem not to be far behind as they look to move into some of the reefy areas and undulated sandbars with starting to fill up quickly.
This beach which is ideall for surf fishing sometimes offers a window of opportunity whilst there is a low swell present to get out and fish some of these areas.
Using my 9ft 8wt fly rod and a few different sandeel pattern flies i was really excited to give this another go after what had been a few years since i last tried it.
