Sri Lanka is a tropical island situated in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Being an island there can be found much endemic fauna in freshwater, Marine & brackish water. Today's episode is about a dying tradition that use to catch fish in villages in Sri Lanka, which is casting net fishing. This real-life experience is captured in the Southern Province in Sri Lanka. We were able to catch some fish locally known as Koranli aka Thilapiya. End to end process of making the fish curry is mentioned below including the ingredients.

How to cook?
This fish might have a strong smell and needs to wash thoroughly. Fist need to wood fire ash all over and clean the fish scale.ash helps to reduce the smell also prevents fish from slippering. Then add some papaya leaves & lime leaves respectively. This also helps to reduce the smell. And the can wash about 2 to 3 times again. Then it needs to cut as shown in the video.
Heat the pot in the low flame and add a little bit of coconut oil. Once the oil is heated add curry leaves, pandan leaves, finely chopped garlic & cinnamon stick to the pot. Meanwhile grind the red chilies, black pepper, brindle berry, cloves, and cardamom and make a pulp. Mix well the pulp and the fish together and add salt to your taste. Once the garlic gets golden brown to add marinated fish into it and add water to cover fish. Close the lid to cook fish in medium heat. Once the water boiling put to take the pot out of the flame and ready to eat.
